Up where I hunt, there are two given times a year deer and hogs will abandon corn...When the blackberries are ripe, and when the live oaks are dropping. Happens every year.
I literally shovel them up in the driveway and by the street and put them in corn bags, and dump them out. They are usually gone over night.

I guess the poor soil (sand) around most of my property are surrounding area is the reason for poor crop.
Would deers and hogs prefer acorn over corn?
If I get a big trash can full of acorn and dump it over the tree at my place would that attract animals?
I'm trying to get some deers and hogs to come to my property during daylight hours so my wife can take some pictures.
I was going to use corn to attract them but if acorn work better I know where I can go and collect some.

I run a feeder year yound and when the acorns start falling the deer are gone. But once the acorns are gone they always come back. You'll always have your faithfull yearlins that will stop by for the easy pickings. :saluting

raining acorns in Seminole ranch this weekend the Live Oaks are dropping everywhere. So many on the ground that the animals can keep up with them.
