Underwater is how I hope the crop is... lol

I'm sick of having to compete with them

// This //...I am hoping the same thing on our lease. Need to get them up and moving for food.

The acorns are thick again this year, it's good for the critters but it makes it hard to pattern game when they can meander from one natural food source to another without having to travel very far. Acorns, cover and water within a couple hundred yards of thick woods make it mighty hard to hunt till the rut causes them to act stupid! Treefarmer

I guess the poor soil (sand) around most of my property are surrounding area is the reason for poor crop.
Would deers and hogs prefer acorn over corn?
If I get a big trash can full of acorn and dump it over the tree at my place would that attract animals?
I'm trying to get some deers and hogs to come to my property during daylight hours so my wife can take some pictures.
I was going to use corn to attract them but if acorn work better I know where I can go and collect some.

kc45, An acquaintence that hunts in Alabama told me some guy gathered his acorns from home and used them at a deer stand and it worked, it also got him a citation, as the game warden told him it was considered baiting. But that's in Alabama, so it's not an issue here in Florida on private property. I think our rule book states that feeding stations are to be maintained 6 months prior to hunting but as you are going to use it for photography it shouldn't be an issue. Wish I could send you all of our acorns, they are forever sprouting in our yard grass. When they start falling you can literally skate across the yard on the acorns some years! You might even check into fertlizing your oak trees to increase the mast production. A lot of folks do this to increase the hunting potential. Treefarmer
