Did anyone else happen to catch "Hog Wild" on Discovery last night? I was flipping through the menu and found it. How come all of these "hog problems" don't happen around me?! Also, never thought I'd see a great dane being used as a catch dog. The boar he caught was a monster and I'll give a big "Bravo Zulu" to the 120lb (soaking wet) gal that yanked out her big blade and jumped right in and dispatched that tank without hesitation.
I missed last night(I do have it on DVR). Last weeks show sorta made me laugh. They had the biggest box full of ragtime catch dogs I've ever seen. A greatDane and some fuzzy mutt looking thing. They turn them loose on a hog they can see in a field, and they can't catch it. "The hog gave them the slip"...Come on, they can't catch one in a friggin pasture???
I swear to God, if you knew nothing of hogs whatsoever and watched that show, you would think they are blood thirsty savage 800# beasts.
Last weeks show did have them catching them behind a church in South Tampa. I had no idea they were any hogs in there.
"The hogs are ramming the fence of the playground trying to get at the children..." LOL

Yeah, they had some guys in Tampa last night too. "A gated community". At one point they said two boars were fighting on the doorstep or foyer of a house - ran it through a woody area and the dogs caught it ON THE NEXT STREET over. Too funny!
I like the one about the gal and her daughter in Hawaii being "held hostage" by the wild pigs that came in at night. What I would give to be perched up on their second story deck with a gun or bow! Some low lighting strung up in the macadamia tree would sure do the trick! :chain
I watched it last night. That hog the Dane got was HUGE.
