Hey folks,
I have a Mossberg 500 with 28" barrel and Accu-choke tubes.
If I want to hunt piggys would you recommend slug or buckshot for this barrel ? if so what kind?

or if you are suggesting I switch to a slug barrel w/sights, then what slug would you use?

I think mossberg sells a 24" rifled slug barrel w/sights, they may also sell a 24" smooth barrel w/sights for use with slugs...

Any advise?
Thanks
G

Keep in mind, this is what I use and have for years, but your question could be asked to 100 different people and you'll get 100 different answers....that being said...

I use a 30 inch full choke with the first 3 rounds #1 Buck and the last is a slug....

if you use buckshot use 00 buck... if not just use rifled slugs in your barrel.

Rifled slugs ok in a barrel with screw-in chokes (read Accu-choke)?
I have 00 buck shot now, no slugs.
No sights, just the typical bb aimpoint at the end of the barrel.

I took it to the skeet range the other day, and for not shooting skeets in over 20 years, my first round was 16/25, next round was 20/25, and finished up with 23/25
