Yeah, I love watching the woods wake up with the sunrise on a cold crisp morning from a deer stand.

My old lease was 95% pines. You really didn't have a choice but to put a stand in a pine tree. It sucked if there was any wind as you would get sea sick

As for the wind and deer....just my opinion and observation over the years...if its over, say about 8-10mph it stays more steady out of one direction and eliminates the wind swirl you get with light winds. They still need to get up and eat. Ive noticed they will get out in open areas a little more and usually feed into the wind. I've also noticed they seem to be less jumpy
