I believe this is the 8 point that I had come out on me and my nephew last weekend. It was 25 yards broadside however, when my nephew took his safety off it heard him and ran. It was hard to let him try and shoot with my gun right in front of me, but I was out there for him. It was his first time hunting and if he got him I believe it would have been a while before he could top it. A buddy got him a few days later about 400 yards from where we were sitting.
Dang it man... I know the feeling of having someone else shoot a buck you've been hunting.
:saluting
That's too bad. I know the feeling as well. I hunted a stand for 3 days once on a lease my dad used to have up in Madison. 1st morning saw a nice big-bodied 6 point come out into a meadow at about 100 yards to my right, and a limb was blocking my shot. I adjusted the ladder stand and pruned that limb, and never saw him again. Left on a Sunday to go home, and Sunday evening one of the other members sat the stand and shot that buck!
Yeah, I watched a young buck this season for weeks. Passed him many times. He showed up at someone elses stand and he gimped him. Now noone can hunt him
