I love ridding my boat on a full moon simply it bright enough to see.
I know that human behavior during a full moon has been observed since forever. That's why the fictional wolfman comes out during a full moon and people turn into lunatics or are said to be moonstruck. So it just stands to reason that animals would be at least more active during that phase. I don't know about y'all but I notice a lot more road kill during the full moon.
I've heard the opposite. that prey animals like deer are not as active during full moons as it would be easier for predators to find them. but I say go out whenever you can, the worst that can happen is you don't have to drag gut and butcher something. not all animals get the memo on how they are supposed to act.

Haha! And sooo the controversy continues... I do totally agree to go out whenever you have the opportunity. It's always a good day to be in the woods! :taz
Ive been a big fan of "hunt when you can" every time i killed something it was usually unplanned. Like for instance, the last doe i shot, its a stand i never ever hunt. I said what the hell, trail cams were always with no pics, but i got nothing to lose. If you hunt alot you'll kill stuff no matter what moon, what weather or time a day. Then since you killed so much you will look,at the moon and what not. If you hunt once in a while and get caught up in feed times, and moon phases you will quickly get frustrated and probably pissed.
Remember the more time your in a stand the better chances of killing something. My last lease i did well cause i sat all day. When i hunt public land i walk and stalk all day and walk 20 miles. Its the time you put in that makes you successful. This year my season was slow. Reason " hunting hours" near to none. i don't blame it on the moon, or wind, or feed times. I blame it on the fact that for what ever reason i was not in the stand when the game were there.
