Few times I've been up in the stand at night I saw more games when there is full moon.
But, I don't know if I saw more games because it was brighter out so I could see them better or if because there really was more games out and moving.

My mother was an RN and she had commented on more things happening during the full moon at the hospital. One of our daughters is a school teacher and she says there is a definite change in behavior during the full moon, more fight,etc.. So if it effects humans it must certainly influence the critters. The tides are higher at certain times of the month as the moon changes. Common thought among a lot of hunters is that the added light of the full moon allows for easier browsing than on dark nights. There are countless books and articles on this subject and they don't all agree. If you follow feeding times on the Scoutlook site, they don't agree with the Fish and Game forecaster that a lot of TV stations include with their weather reports. Been hearing about this all my adult life and ain't figgured it out yet. Treefarmer

To my knowledge, there is no scientific data to correlate moon phase to human behavior. The old story of crazy people coming out of the woodwork on a full moon just has no data to back it up. If anyone can post a link to show otherwise I will eat my last post

As far as deer(or big game) movement on a full moon? I guess everyone has their opinion on that. According to some of the leading deer expert biologists in the country, there is little to no effect from moon phase on their behavior. However............. moon position is definitely a factor in their movement, and I tend to agree with that theory 1000%

The theory is, deer will move/feed when the moon is overhead or underfoot. Think about when the moon is overhead on a full moon....in the middle of the night

I get so sick and tired of hearing hunters blame the moon on their lack of success. The fact is, deer do not need the light of the moon to see.

For me, the waxing half of the moon is the best, as it puts the moon over or under during prime times. Give me the 5-7 days before the moon is full when the moon is rising in the east late afternoon, and those afternoons are the best hunting there is

pay close attention to the over/under times. Summer thru maybe last month till the hunting pressure got up, all my sightings and game cam pics correlated with those times

yep, when i want to hunt it does not matter where the moon is,i am going to go hunting!i believe older deer both bucks and does will move at night because they have been conditioned to do so.they have learned after the 1st hunting season of there life that nighttime is the right time.
