lookin for any advice on hunting wmas im lookin into lake monroe
Scouting stick to one WMA and get to learn it , then once you start to figure out WMA hunting go try another or hook up with somebody that has been there and done that
This is my first year here, but I have been scouting Lake Monroe. There are three parking lots I have scouted 2 and 3. 2 isn't bad its an easy hike with the trail being there. 2 has a section of oaks and think palmetto shrubs in open field and a pine stand. The third spot has a small pine area at the beggining, then the trail goes into some woods and palmetto shrubs. It kinda subtely dies off then the brush gets real thick, I got lost in there today for about an hour (thankfully I had my gps). That far back there is no way you are dragging anything big out of there. You can also gain access to the WMA if you have a boat or water craft of some sort. Hope this helps. Don't forget to go out there and see for yourself. Oh its alot of marsh too.
