Liberty County, Fla:
A Liberty County woman is dead after a hunting trip goes terribly wrong.

It Happened Saturday morning around 11 a.m. Eastern near Hosford at the Blue Creek Hunting Club off Blue Creek Road.

Officials with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission say 57 year old Pansey Langston was part of a hunting party. The group was using dogs to run deer.

FWC Spokesman Stan Kirkland says 36 year old Richard Ryals of Quincy stopped and heard the dogs chasing the deer toward him. Ryals reportedly shot at the deer twice. One of the shots missed and struck Langston in the upper chest. Langston, a Hosford resident, was 270 feet away and out of sight when Ryals fired.

Langston was lifeflighted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The FWC is investigating the shooting, but Kirkland doesn’t anticipate any criminal charges.

That's one of the reasons why I hate hunting blinds. Same thing could happen. On public land that is.

Thats way to bad that it happened!

C r0ck my buddy Rick was stand hunting in a low valley up about 25 feet a shot was fired from next property over on the hill and all I heard was Rick yelling that he was over here and you better not shoot again you sob.
I go to check out what was going on and Rick shows me right were the slug hit his tree.

The point is if it is gonna happen it will!

I personally thing the whole entire hunter safety system needs to be re-done. The way it is now, if you can fog up a mirror held under your nose you can pass the course. Not saying it would have changed the outcome in this case, but I think It could have saved many lives.
There are still too many retards out there with loaded guns that should not be using one. A basic IQ exam along with a stiffer hunter's safety course should be mandatory, IMHO

yeah, the hunter safetly course is kind of a joke. they basically do everything in their power to let you pass the test and really anyone with common sense can pass it. there is more to hunting than the 10 commandments.
