i have a couple going on the turkey creek property. for the hogs. they have already run the deer off of them. the hogs know there is food there and just take their sweet time getting to them. sometimes skipping the morning throw, to get twice as much in the evening. for my deer in georgia I use broadcast and gravity feeders. the deer will stage up on the edge of the woods waiting for the feeder to go off.
