This was the first time I had been to my WMA since turkey season. Ive got 2 areas that I generally hunt. I turned onto the road going to my spot and the road had been graded within the last couple days. Got a bad feeling, because they don't fix roads there unless the timber company is working. Sure enough, I parked my truck, walked into the pines, and the trees are all marked. They are getting ready to level it. This is one of the prettiest spots I have ever hunted. There is a creek that runs thru the middle of the block, with planted pines on both sides.
I sit right in the middle of the creek run, as that is a natural travel area for the game.
I walked on to the creek and the pines on the other side were marked too.
I saw a bunch of deer, hogs, and skeeters. Bunch of sign but the deer are heavy into their summer patterns. I am gonna wait till labor day weekend to worry about any more scouting.
Might go hang a camera mid August for the heck of it
