We are going to start running the corn a little heavier on the lease I'm on and we don't have the $10 a bag (bulk) contact they had last year. Would anyone be willing to share their contact for corn? I'm not sure if $10 a bag is feasible but anything under $14 would be nice. I'm located in South Florida. Lease is in SW Florida.

$14/bag is absurd and so is $10. 2 years ago I was paying $4. I buy it at $8/bag in Inglis

Well $13.50 to be exact. I agree it's ridiculous.

Chit! I'm buying a pallet tomorrow and didn't realize it was that high. Sorry but no hookups from me.

We bought shelled corn, 50# bags for less than $10, all season it was between $9 and $9.95. As Iluv2hunt said, a couple of years ago it was 3-4 dollars for the same stuff. I went to automatic feeders some years ago and have saved a lot of money getting away from the gravity feeders or just pouring 50# out every 2 or 3 days at different stands. The big clubs buy their corn by the ton, right out of the field. If you are feeding up wild hogs year 'round this would seem like the way to go. As long as you have a way to haul and store the corn it is way cheaper this way. A club ought to be able to calculate how much corn each member fed last season and then go up the state a little ways and find somebody willing to sell combine-run corn by the ton. In our part of Florida, the deer quit eating corn before the season is over in February, and it is late in the summer before they will get regular at a feeder. I guess it depends on what type of vegetation is available in a particular location as to how and when they respond to corn. Treefarmer
