Have any of yall tried using choke tubes that are designed to shoot Buckshot? I was told that they would extend range, engery and told a tighter pattern, kinda like a turkey choke. Just wondering if any of yall have tired them and how it work. I have reserched them online. Now I want some imput of people that have used them.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Just shoot a modified choke tube with buck shot. A full is too constrictive(IMHO) and distorts the pellets as they come out

I also got away from 00 buck and went to #1Buck and never looked back

+1 on a modified choke, but I switched from 00 buck to 00 magnum buck. On targets I get like 5 pellets in a 12" circle at 100yds.

Buck kicker makes one that alot of the guys who dog hunt in shotgun only counties of Virginia swear by. I don't like my chokes being too restrictive because if I'm shooting a shotgun it's probably less than a 40 yd shot

Only dog hunted with buck shot about 8 or 10 times in GA and we patterned our shotguns with OO buck 12 Ga 3" shells. I would recommend you pattern your gun with the chokes you have and look at the difference between a modified and full at the same distance. My buddy was shooting an 1187 Super Mag 30" and his modified choke patterned the same or better as an extended full turkey choke on the 870 Mag 28" gun I was shooting. We tried the full choke and it was much better in the 870 and worse in the 1187. He put the extended full trukey choke on his 1187 and it patterned terribly. Pattern your gun and try the chokes you have first or can borrow from a friend before spending money on something that might not work well.... My two cents.
