You need to read the rules and regs before actually going hunting,may want to think about a hunter safety course as well.
I have never used a crossbow for hunting before but once you practice little bit and get used to with a compound bow, I think it would be alot better.
A compound bow is alot lighter and easier to manuever due to the lighter weight. I mean aiming a crossbow is pretty much as same as aiming a gun so it might be easier than a bow but like I said, little bit of practice, you can hit a target with no problem. My bow is rated for 70lb draw weight. I couldn't even pull that thing when I first bought it. I mean I could but I had to struggle little bit to pull a string.
but with a little bit of practice, Im sure you'll be good at it.
