not really. they will hit 6th gear you start shooting at them. they do run pretty fast. will throw you off, because of their size. used to practice with a target in a tire and roll the tire down a hill. of course the area we were shooting in was safe.

sometimes bucks are hard to stop. especially during the rut. if they have a good scent on a hot doe, they won't always stop with a grunt or doe bleat. they might stop if you whislte at them.

it can be done, but don,t realy recomend it, most are not good enough shots or have never tried it before. like kemster said, put a target in the center of a tire and roll it down a hill or on a rope swing. I've only done it 4 times in 35plus yrs hunting, 2 were follow up shots and the other 2 were at 20 feet or so. if you want to try it use open sights or as low a powered scope you can, and the closer the better.

actually, this is a cool video to watch. these guys in Ga. hunting with thermal scopes. you are able to see the leads he does to hit running hogs.
