The Southwest Florida Water Management District is currently evaluating District-managed lands to determine if there are additional public hunting opportunities available. This is a multi-step process with numerous opportunities for public comment. Any final recommended changes will be discussed at public meetings and ultimately presented to the District's 13-member Governing Board for consideration. Public comment will be accepted at all of these meetings. The District is currently evaluating eight District-managed properties for additional public hunting opportunities. This evaluation is being done in cooperation with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). I wish all of the water management districts would do this regularly. The SJWMD controls alot of land here in Central Florida that I would like access to.
Couldn't agree more... All that Lake Jessup land could be hunted then... It's all BS IMHO... It's easier to get a Concealed Weapons Permit in FL than it is to legally have hunting access to public land. What a crock of shizzzzzz.
