C'mon FLDXT, not everyone is going to be pleased all the time. But that does not mean FWC and the representatives in the Stakeholder groups aren't listening. It only means you're in the minority as to how everyone else wants to see things done.

Now, I will say that sometimes the Commissioners, especially the chairman, when they get a bug up their butts about something, there is no reasoning with them. Take the quota hunt permits for example. More than 70% of hunters wanted NO CHANGE to transferability. But the Commission would not listen to reason nor could the quota hunt workgroup change their minds. So we got what he have now. It's imperfect but it's better than a bunch of know-nothing politicians making up rules on a whim. Some days you win the lotto, and other days you get hit by a bus.

I don't disagree that the season is wrong for the east side of the lake. But we did talk to ALL users, not just public land weekend warriors. We spoke with private ranchers, large land managers, small private land managers, and we gave the public ample opportunity to give their opinions. It's impossible for FWC to go door to door and speak to everyone. So instead they posted meetings publically and held them all over the state. The closest ones to your area were held in Ft. Myers and in Clewiston, both of which gave us great feedback.

The season dates are set for 2010-2011, but that doesn't mean we won't be looking to make adjustments where necessary. FWC will be looking at precisely that over the next couple years so that deer hunting can be fine tuned across all regions. Don't give up hope man. They are listening and trying to make things better for everyone.

they posted meetings publically and held them all over the state. Every time I checked on going to "these meetings" they were being held in the middle of the day during working hours and always a few hrs drive.IMO so most people cant come to be heard and do as they please IMHO.This is from a dumb :ahole redneck so maybe I dont understand, but that is how it seems to me

Then you were looking at the wrong meetings. What you were looking at was the Commissioners meetings. The public meetings for the deer management issues were always held in the evenings beginning at 6pm and ran until 8 or 9pm. There were meetings in Ft. Myers, Lakeland, Lake City, Tallahassee, Clewiston, Dania, and Panama City. For future information and upcoming public meetings on crossbow, season dat allignment, harvest report issues, and others, keep checking http://myfwc.com/deer
