Usually pour corn on ground twice a week in smaller amounts but new lease is further away so was thinking of using tripod feeders wondering if any pros or cons in using auto feeders also does anyone feed sweet feed or any other feed was wondering if any other feed they like more than corn
I haven't found anything they like more than corn out of a feeder. Feeders work great if you can keep the critters and bears off of 'em. I like to hang the feeders with a winch to make it easier to fill them. If bears are a problem then just hand spread the corn lightly when you 1st get to the property each time. Even if you use soybeans the bears will key in on feeders going off. I shut mine down 1/2 way through the season cause of them.
Tripod feeders are great. When you set them up, go and get 3 pieces of rebar at least 48" long. Drive a piece in next to each leg about 2'. then duct tape, zip tie, or rope tie it to the legs. That way hogs won't knock it over
Thanks for the comments no bear that I know of hopefully they won't show up ill def tie the feeders down thanks for the tip
