Day 75-Corn patch food plot

Had 3 rains since last report, totaling only 1". Corn is still maturing. Some is almost completely made and will be beginning to dry down and some still has fresh silks on the ears. Remember, this planting was a combination of several different varieties of non-hybrid corn.

Only an occasional deer track, as the local herd can be found each evening, about dark, in a little peanut field about a 1/4 mile to the northwest. Also no evidence of squirrels or coons yet.

Will continue to disk around the patch to see when the critters start paying closer attention to the corn, then we'll try to get some pictures. Treefarmer

Thank you for the update.
That corn looks beautiful.
It reminds me of sweet corn we used to pick at the u-pick-it farm when I was a kid.

Day 82 Corn patch food plot

Rain continues to be sufficient as we have had 1.8 inches since last report. Had some high winds with a front that dropped out of Alabama yesterday morning. Provided 1.5 inches of the rain and blew down a little bit of corn, also several planted pine were snapped off. Usually this happens to trees that have a disease or some type of injury. One almost fell on a feeder. Corn is still maturing, like we said before it is now like watching paint dry. Deer are still in the peanut field most every evening. One picture shows the corn patch beyond the shootin' house as you would approach from the north and the other shows the pine near the feeder. Notice how high up on the trunk it snapped off. Day 82 Corn patch food plot

4 rains since last week totaling 3.65 inches.

Corn is beginning to dry down. The leaves are losing their green color, beginning to turn brown, fall is coming!

3 pictures, patch from shooting house, standing corn and an ear that was on a stalk that was blown down. Notice the different colors of the grains and also the acorns that are about to mature. Lots of food in the woods for this season around here. Treefarmer
