my stuff slowed down a bit the last few weeks in the heat, now is going like gangbusters but my topsy/turvey stuff I gotta water like crazy or it wilts. also spray app every 3 weeks with amonia, baby shampoo, mouthwash, brewed chewing tobbaco equal parts with 4-5 parts water. keeps em clean, antiseptic, bug free, well fertalized and nice and green.

sam03, Here's a couple of pics of one of the sprinklers. Camera is acting goofy so forgive the slight blurr. The stand is made of 1'' sch. 40 pvc, there is a 1" cross that begins the stand and a 1" "T" that accepts the riser, which is about 72". The 4 legs of the stand are 12'' long, 2 opposing ones are capped and the other 2 are plumbed with a male and female hose fittings, in and out. The head is a rainbird and it has a 1/2" male end, so you have to reduce from 1" down to a 1/2" female adapter, screw on the bird and your done. I only run 3 as it will almost cover 14- 3' rows 100' long. The 2nd sprinkler is the same as the 1st with a 25' length of 5/8" water hose between the sprinklers. The one on the end has a female hose fitting one on leg and the other 3 are capped. You could do it with a hose cap that screw on rather than pvc cap just in case you wanted to add more sprinklers. You can buy similar stands already constructed that probably look a lot better, but with a can of glue and a hacksaw it's a lot cheaper to build your own. Treefarmer

just picked a whole collander full of bush beans, cherry tomatoes, cowhorn tobasco pepper and my first beefstake mater and first green bell pepper. and I only have 8-9 pots. got big plans and a large area for a much larger garden but want to set up and get some compost first. enjoy eating a cold 3 bean salad with string beans, red onion, maters, kidney beans, garlic and italian or mojo dressing. maybe some salsa this time. bush beans, a lot of leaves are turning yellow and think they are over then a couple weeks later they are loaded again. when do they die off?
