If you check the regulations at www.myfwc.com (which you should be doing before you target any species) you would see that yes, snatching or snagging sheepshead is illegal..

Take it easy, he was asking if it was illegal, not saying he was planning to do it. Maybe he saw someone doing it or someone told him it was okay and he was wondering about it. Don't jump to conclusions.
