good advice
I can't even find a good place for myself anymore and I've been hog hunting forever. Hog doggin' is the latest,greatest thing. Most of the lands are all still hunt leases now and the clubs that allow it are smack full of hog hunters and very few hogs. Honestly I think your boys best bet would be to buddy up with the redneck types at school that hunt and he'll get an invite. Offer a tank of gas or a bag of dog feed. It's definitly an addicting way to hunt. If you find some land down south give me a shout.
I used to bird hunt with dogs a lot but never deer or hogs. honestly it sounds fun but very possibly dangerous especialy for a newbie and a child at that and physically demanding. I'm sure newbie tag-alongs would slow down a crew, if they had to stop and explain every move. maybe thats a part of it. kids I'd be willing to take hunting are very few and far between, most are not raised right, respectfull or polite. those that are, you know the parents had to put a lot of work into getting them that way and congrats to you. maybe trapper Dan uses dogs in some hunts.
