actually thats a story im glad i read.. its totally what this thread is about. Thats the kind of situation i am scared to be in.

well you asked about hunting dogs and those were obviously not hunting dogs. I only know of a few hog hunters that actually run pits out freely.Those guys do that only in certain situations.
A pit is used for the purpose of a catch dog and is usually kept at the hunter's side on a lead. When the hunter approaches the bay , only then is the catch dog is released. At this point the catchdog's job is to catch the hog on the ear and hold on at all cost. It is not to kill the hog or be viscious with the other dogs or any human that it might run by.That is a distasteful quality and dealt with accordingly.

its all good.. my intention was to find out what to do when there are crazy ass dogs running your way.. lol.. Not all people follow the rules!.. Those people get me all worked up.. lol

that sucks for buster, but you saved yourself and who knows how many others possible harm, shame on busters owner. thats very responsable of you bringing the dog to the check station, way to go,KUDOS to you.
