+2 absolutley right stinks worst then rotting flesh.. another thing about ear infections is that if a dogs ear gets wet, my dog gets quite a few 3 a year, costs $300 or more , if they need to tranqulize him to clean the ear out at the VET, each time.. Danger also if you don't get it cured , it can cause the dog to loose hearing in that ear..
my dogs are in the pool at least 4-5 times a day even in winter so there ears are always wet. you just gotta take a peek everyday and take a whiff if it looks bad or you notice any of the symptoms.if you act quickly enough you will avoid those vet bills. but they definately don't like getting the ears cleaned with q-tips, it's a 2 person job, one to hold the dog and 1 to use the q- tips. dogs with cropped ears don't seem to have the problems anywhere near as bad.
