ive been on the flying fish, not impressed at all, they drift fish over springs, and once you start catching fish, you stop catching fish. i was just glad i didnt pay for the trip. miss cortez out of bradenton is no longer there, seasonally now, or they did last i checked had a viking boat that went out, not sure what that runs, but i heard it was better than the flying fish fleet. when we went there were maybe 5 keeper grouper caught and the rest were grunt, and i caught an octopus that they made me throw back.
octopus had to go back I wonder why??
they probably didnt want to put it in the fish box for fear it would either escape or make a complete mess. i was dissappointed because that was only the second one i ever caught, and i have still yet to eat fresh caught octopus. the first one i caught some idiot thought it was his responsibility to kick it off the pier before i could even enjoy the catch much less snap a pic of it. needless to say he almost got thrown off the pier.
