it's been a long time since I bow hunted and preffered mechanicals for deer for safety reasons , seen a few people overdraw with a fixed blade and get a nasty slice on the finger.I'm sure theyve come a long way in 7-8 years, was just wondering if a mech can penetrate a big hogs shoulder plate with 55-60 lb pull, and I'd prefer a complete pass thru for max blood trail.

You bet they can! I've kilt a few goodly sized hogs through the shoulders with 100gr NAP Spitfires firing 60lbs with ACC 3-60's a total weight of about 495grains. They did not get a pass through, but did cut through the other side with the fletchings still inside the chest cavity. I recoverd each hog under a hundred yards.

I've used 100 gr. Spitfire Mechanicals since 1998 and have yet to lose faith in them

I agree. Best Mechanical made, in my opinion. The Rage's are cool, but I can't keep the damn things from opening up, either in my quiver or anything it bumps into
