Muzzy 3 blade 100g :archer
just rumaged thru all my old archery stuff and came across some rocket brand 100 gr mech broad heads still new in plastic, what do you think? anyone remember that brand? they worked fine in 02 on the only bow deer I've gotten.
Rocket made tough little broadheads, but check the sharpness of the blades. They used .05" stainless steel blades that are notorious for going dull sitting on the shelf. Use a small ceramic rod to put the edge back on them and buy new rubber o-rings. Rocket used to use the tiny rubber bands favored by orthidontists; they'll dry rot after awhile...even still in the original packaging. They're cheap and easily found at any drug store or dentists office.
Check sharpness on the blades and replace the rubbers and them dogs will still hunt.
took your advice Tony and saw the guys at the archery shop on N,fl ave in tampa and had the bow checked out.same poundage as when used last everything in good shape. had like 18 arrows re-fletched, bought a pack of spitfire 100gr broadheads, an arm guard and some of those earthscent thermacell refills ( couldn't find them anywhere else). an older ( my age ) women and tech with diabetes said to say hello. and I'm gonna wait to see the doc on the 13th to see if I'm going the disability route, at which point I'd have to switch to crossbow, so I didn't have the string or cables changed just yet.it's been over ten years and my bow looks like it belongs in the mathews musseum compared to the z7, but it still shoots true smooth and quiet. didn't have it chronoed but I'm sure it's fine for "my ranges". man you could spend a small fortune just fitting a bow out with all the new rests and sights etc. felt like a dinosaur in there. saw lots of young rich looking kids in suits with all the latest and best gear and can see how it may be possible to take those long shots with all the right stuff tuned in and well practiced. I managed to get off 2 shots with both the bow and me holding together, and the sight pin was dead on right where I left it but litteraly had to wipe off the dust and cobwebs. good to be back, but know the doc/chiro and lawyer would have a sh*t fit if they knew who Nacho grande was and what he was up to. thanks for the advice.
Shooting a dinosaur? My Q2 was a gift from the former owner of Arrowhead Archery Shop in 1999 and I'm still killing with it! Some of the accessories have been replaced a few times, but the bow is still smooth, quiet, and deadly accurate.
