forgive me, it's been so long, spitfires ring a bell, are they mechanicals? I prefer a mechanical, do you think they will give me a complete pass thru on hogs at 30 yd's max. with a mathews at 60lbs?
Muzzy 3 blade 100 grain works every time, nothing fancy, always gets the job done.

I've seen people do a number on their fingers and nick cables and strings with fixed blades. I've had good luck with mechanicals on deer and they are awesome on squirrel and rabbit( but expensive) but was'nt sure if they are tough enough for a good sized hog, thats why I ask ARE MECHANICAL BROADHEADS GOOD AND RELIABLE ENOUGH FOR HOGS?
Yes Nacho, Spitfire broadheads are mechanical broadheads.
I have taken hogs cleanly out to 72yds (see "Last chance to check" by JohnI) with Spitfire broadheads. I have taken over thirty wild hogs with them and although the 72 yd shot was with a custom bow I helped design and set at seventy pounds, my current hunting bow, a Matthews, is set at sixty-two pounds and cleanly send the arow through the pigs.
That said, there is a LOT of variables. Total arrow weight, arrow speed, draw length, type an dstyle of arrow rest, fletchings, and arrow diameter all come into play.
Take the bow in for a tune up and to test the kinetic energy. If you generate fifty pounds or more (as reccommended by New Archery Products for use with their Spitfire broadheads) go to the woods and kill yerself a pig!
Ditto what Toby said. Ive had many pass thru's on hogs. However, if you hit the shoulder blade or thick shield you may not
