i still dont understand the arc thing.. i mean from the point of your arrow and deer.. if your in your tree stand and the point of your arrow and your deer is 20 yards shoot your 20 pin.. i still dont understand about this arc thing. If its all about arrow drop maybee and its gotta be minimal.

no, when elevated the yardage you shot could be a little longer. for example. a 20 yard shot on the ground would be just that. now take that same 20 yard shot and get up a tree 18 - 20 feet. your shot distance will increase a few yards. makes a big difference if your pins are set at 5 yd increments.. take a framing square-- usually 36" on the longest side. now measure from the end of the short side to the end of the long side. finish the triangle. it will not be 36". will be alittle longer.

no matter where you are you just see how many hards it is from you to the target. so if im in my treestand and my rangefinder says its 20 yards its off?

and why would it matter really if your up 30 feet it will turn it from a 20 yard shot to a 22 yard shot. dont seem like a big deal.

could be a difference in shot placement. I have a range finder with ARC in it. will let you check it out. it will tell you the flat yardage like lets say 25 yds-- then it will tell you what yardage to shoot it for-- like 28 yds. Elevation does change your distance. the higher you go up can realyy change a shot distance.
