Got to my stand this morning plenty early and could see the hogs were killin' the feeder. Set there for awhile and at 8:00 I heard another feeder go off very close to me. Mine went off at 8:30 and nothing. Waited till 10:00 and had to find out where the other feeder was.I followed the game trail 80 yards exactly to the other stand nd feeder. Dude set right up on me. Make a long story short I took the high road"he was a older disabled gent" and pulled all my stuff out of there. Hunted it all season last year, killed several hogs and a nice buck there. Took me all day to find another spot I liked, moved about 400 yards away from him.At 6:00 pm I was so hot and sweaty I just came on back home. I'll letit sit till next Fri.
It maybe a slow start but you will hit it good this year.
Damn that sucks! Good for you keeping your cool. I probably would have came unglued. :censored
Yeah, I've had years where I've killed a buck and hog opening day.Once I drove to Missouri went straight to the woods and killed a 6 point the first eve. That spot was awesome,I guess the old man hunted in there in the years past but he said his brother died last season so he didn't hunt.I never seen no sign of anyone in there. Then he let me know about his 5 heart attacks, bipass surgeries and stints. I had rights to the spot but what was I supposed to do? He drives right to the spot on a 4 wheeler, and drops his wife off nearby too. Game will probably avoid that area. I'm not to worried ,just disapointed after all the hard work,it's really as spot for my kids to shoot hogs.
