Ok so heres the story. I left the house at 3:15 this morning and headed to Central Florida. When I arrived I hoped out of the truck and headed to my stand. It was about 3/4 of a mile threw a thick swamp. I arrived at my stand only to realize I left my key to unlock my climber in my truck. :bh:

So I dropped my backpack and bow and tried to make it back to my truck as fast as possible. When I returned I was sopping wet in sweet and stunk like the three pitchers of beer I drank the night before. I unlocked the stand and climbed up about 25' and changed my shirt. Then i reached for my thermocell. OH Shi* it was sitting at the base of the tree along with my back pack that had drinks and food.

My attitude was less then perfect at that point. I kept thinking it could only get better. After the sun rose I didn't see any thing but a coon and squirrels. At 8:45 a large doe came walking out of the palmettos about 70 yards in front of me. 😀 She made her way right towards me and stopped about 30 yards facing me to smell my trail cam. That made her ancy, but she continued on the trail towards me. When she was about 15 yards away she noticed my backpack and started stomping her feet. I had no shot. I pulled back my bow and waited for her to continue on the trail.

After about 30 seconds of her stomping her feet and looking around she quickly started walking off. She hit a clearing large enough for a shot (about10 yards) I grunted, she stooped, And I let it fly!!!!! Perfect shot! she ran about 50 to 60 yards tops and dropped in sight. It was less then 6 seconds from the time I shot her till she dropped.

I had no intention of shooting a doe this weekend. But with the way my day was going I figured I better take what I can get. Another great weekend deer #3 in the freezer. Here is a video after i shot her.
