To make him feel better....

A little cypress head in the middle of planted pines is one of my favorite places to hunt. Not usually a place where they feed, but almost always it is a travel corridor. I had a spot just like that back in Lafayette HC and between dad and I, we killed like 7-8 bucks in about a 3 year period out of that spot
Papa J, I would definitely set up in that spot :toast

Well, I'll take ur comments in stride. I do know that the area immediately to the east of there is definitely a bedding area. All the pine row mounds within 30 yards of the cypress head were grass covered and flattened down with piles of deer droppings all around em, which would imply that it's a bedding area of some type. And no, there isn't a tree branch rubbing up against the cypress. Not saying it couldn't be squirrels, but the gouges in the tree seem to say otherwise. As Carlos said, it could be the mysterious skunk ape. Or, it could be a half crazed crack head trying to get away from a green panther. Don't matter to me. I'll be back there in August to sneak in and set a game camera, and then back in October for archery opener if the area stays active and I see anything worth sittin and waitin for.
