I shoot 70# but I would strongly recomend you start at the lowest you can. when you start shooting tight groups then up the pounds. you have along time before season. also find a local archery club and do some 3-D shoots alot of clubs do them every month during the off season. Remember macho hurts and can set you back months with sholder injuries not to mention what it does to your form.
yeah, you only legally need what, 35 lbs to hunt? mine is set at 70, i have no problem pulling it and with the let-offs the bows have nowadays its not as bad as it use to be. my bear was so slow, and now my martin shoots frickin missiles compared to that thing
yea ima lower it down .
#70 for hunting. In the off season it gets lowered. About a month before hunting season I bring it back up to full power.
60# is enough for me.
Funny story I took my bow to a "Pro shop", I use this term loosely, and had a string & cables put on. I got it home and got it sighted in. Had it shootin fine but It just seemed off so I took it back and had my draw checked. Every thing was ok.
Fast forward to this last season I sent my bow off to BowXperts. I told them to set it at 60 cause I though that was the max but it turns out it's 70. They also informed me that my string was 2 inches to long and I was only pullin 42# max draw weight. Man was I PO-ed. The so called "PRO shop" did nothing for me as far as recouping any money for string. I informed them I will not be back and will let every one I can know what they did.
