definitely not all the time. i saw lots of 10-12 foot ladder stands in Citrus this weekend in the thick sheet. All the ladders we have Jumper Creek WMA are all 10-12ft tall. Ill get that high up when hunting along fields lined with pines. its hard to break-up real the silhouette when the trees look like toothpicks from a distance. stick out like a bump on the log, literally 😆

Only hunt as high as you need and feel comfortable doing so no matter what! You can always blend your stand in as needed to help conceal or break up your human form.

got a new stand thought i would start practiceing from it how high should i set it to hunt hogs?

I'm assuming your stand is a climber... If so put it up in a tree and start climbing. You should get an idea of shooting lanes, back cover, etc once you are making your way up.
