I've got some 6-8 yr old pellets, stored properly, do you think they are still safe to use?

Yes
However, I would use them for the range and not in hunting loads. I buy a new batch of 777 every year, and the previous stuff gets used at the range. Never had a problem. Ever

I found some old pellets and shot them. What a hugh mistake, I used two pellets and they looked like flares flying through the air. They landed in a bush and I had a fire. Both times I shot the same thing :gangsta ..

mine were closer to 10 yrs old and worked fine, but were stored inside in the air conditioning. also I collect a coffee can full of those dessicant cubes that come in medicine bottles and keep one in the gun safe and one in the powder drawer ( helps keep humidity down ), ask a pharmacy to save them for you.
