I just bought a muzzleloader (CVA Wolf 209 .50 cal) as I want to start hunting with one and extend my season a little bit. Question, where do you buy your supplies (Triple 7 pellets, 209 777 primers, bullets and cleaning supplies) in the Tampa bay area? I’m looking for a place that carries everything you need, with good customer service and staff willing to help someone new to ML.

Any help will be appreciated.

I have same gun. I use it as my back up gun. Honestly, I got everything at Wal MArt. They were cheaper than anywhere else.

Right now I am shooting (2) 777 pellets and a 250gr Shockwave in both of my guns. I want to try the Barnes again. I couldn't get them to group last time

Thanks. Any Walmart in particular that you go? I checked the ones around Riverview, Sun City Center and Brandon and they didn't have anything. I know the one in Lakeland sells guns and stuff so I'll be stoping there this Saturday on my way to the GS to check game cameras.

Also, how you like the gun? I know is kind of entry level, but I'm not sure as to what to expect regarding hunting with a ML and wanted to keep it kind of on the cheap side until I'm convinced that ML is for me. :clap

I don't know about here but when I was stationed in NM walmart only carried the black powder stuff for a certian time period. I'm assuming it was around muzzle loading season.

blackpowder is an explosive where smokeless powder merely burns at a controlled rate. (I know a little off topic) but at walmart in brooksville there is blackpowder sitting on an open shelf, not even behind glass like ammo, go figure. as for zeroing your b/p gun I'd figure out what realisticly is gonna be your most common shot distance and zero for that range and hold over/under for anything else. I think a lot of people sight their guns way too far out (I used to also), I used to zero my rifles for 200 yds and in almost 35 yrs of hunting have never shot over 100 yds and 95% were under 40 yds, so now I zero closer to where most of my shots will actualy take place, but thats just me. b/p bullets are relatively heavy and slow moving and drop quickly beyond 100 yds, so zeroing for youre actual shooting distance is a little more important than with a flat shooter like a 25-06 or 270.
