I leave mine loaded if I haven't shot it until I leave camp for home. It's not going to hurt anything. Taping or covering the barrell is a good idea as well as removing the cap. If I have a shot left in there when it's time to pack up, I just shoot it out. I never have taken them home loaded.

My knight disc is loaded the whole muzzeloader season, I take out primer after hunt everyday. Mine has never failed to fire. I cover the end of the barrel and action with masking tape when I'm not hunting.
