The best we can tell is this:
If you get a big boar bear that camps out around a feeder it will bump your deer out of the area. They get under the feeder and piss all over the place and I think it spooks the deer up pretty good. It took us 4 long and costly years to figure out how to bear proof our feeders and to figure out what bears do and don/t like. We have never seen bears and deer together, but have seen deer after seeing bears. we have more bears this season than last. We are seeing them every weekend.
Bears like to gorge themselves and not have to work for it. So if you scatter the corn real well they don't get too interested. Also we let our feeders run just a short time as to give the deer and hogs a chance to feed.
Don't know if i told this on here or not
3 weeks ago I walked into a stand we have on a logging road that makes an "L" shape. I got in the stand at 6AM. I try to walk in all the time w/o using a flashlight(always unnerving in bear country).
at 6:15 I see a black shadow walking towards me. I picked up my binoc's and realized it was the big male bear we have in film(second picture above). He walks up to the ladder stand and starts sniffing the bottom of the ladder with me sitting in it. I can literally hear the snot in his nose(it could also have been the crap running out of my drawers too). I was trying to get my pistol out of the holster as I couldn't turn the gun down due to the shooting rail. I made a little metal on metal noise and he took off. A few minutes later he came back and laid down 40 yards from me and watched me until 8am, then wandered off. That was a little unnerving, to say the least
he was trying to give you the best 8 hours of your life.. LOL 😉
