do you carry a back up gun "bug" pistol while hunting deer, hogs, whatever? if so what & why & have you ever had to use it? up north I found no need for one but here in fla I'm a little concerned about snakes/hogs/bears/gators oh my. the few times I hunted solo down here I carried a ruger sp101 357 snubbie with 2- rounds of #9 snake shot & 3- rounds 180gr jhp. should I switch to my sigsauer 45 acp or glock 40 15-shot, with the first 2 rounds loaded with snake shot. whats your opinion?

i carry a S&W .40 M&P Sub compact. I mainly shoot my hogs in the trap with it. But i also carry it just incase if i need to shoot a charging hog or a hog that i shot with a bow and decided to charge me.

I carry a 9MM concealed. But hunting I carry a 357 S&W and the first 2 are with 38spcl rat shot. Ive used mine a couple times for hogs that weren't quite dead.
I did have mine cocked back last year and pointing at a bear that was sniffing the tree I was sitting in. Luckily he did not try to sit with me
