Another year down and another great Smokey Mountain trip to Sky Valley. Upon arriving it rained on and off for a few days and then cleared up. Even the rain up there is gorgeous. The clouds that would form over the mountains were inspiring after the rains stopped.
Fishing was off for the first few days and then on the last few days picked up. This is the one area I really get to practice my fly fishing. Fortunately for me, thats what the local fish wanted. This year I did not get to do trout fishing, but with the kids being older we did more hiking and got to visit the Lake Burton Trout Hatchery. The ranger there was great and answered all the kids questions. (that would include me )
Waking up in the am to 62 degrees was a welcome break. All evenings were closed down with Crown Royal and watching the sun set over the mountains, unless I was fishing the sun set. Then I drank the Crown afterwards. LOL.
The natural beauty there is awesome. I will let the pics tell the rest of the tale.

I have been to a few of those same places. Funny story about the fish hatchery....
My ex-brother in law was a cop in SC. We went there years back and he told me o story of 2 guys getting arrested at the hatchery for fishing in it. The had somehow rigged a line down their pants leg. They would stand at the edge and drop the line over the side thru their pants, hook a fish and wait till noone was looking, then pull it in and shove it in a backpack that looked like a camera bag
