I'll start checking around for some of the best spots in town to hit em good.
do it!
Peacock basses are excellent fighters, south florida canals are full of them. They were introduced by the FWC to control the many non-native species the reside in south florida. I have caught a couple, my technique is to cast your lure into the bed were the pair is guarding their youngs, one of them will defend your their nest and bite the lure. Or just use the same lures you would on a bass. The limit is 2 per day only one of which may be longer than 17 inches. :toast
Oh and they taste great!
still game to make a trip down south!
