Yea if you wanted to, they just warn about the amount of mercury thats in them

That's a factor with just about any fish. Longer-lived, predatory species will have more mercury, and the older the fish the more mercury it is likely to contain.

You gotta get down into "land of the dangling chad" to start seeing peacock bass in any numbers. Best bait I've found for em is a top water splash bait like the old jitter bugs or a buzz bait. A big shiney rapalla in a snap jerk retrieve works good too. Make sure you have good line and a decent leader. 10 pounders are common, and they fight like a largemouth on crack. Heavy action bait caster is almost a must, but a solid spinner rod and reel will work too.

I need to get down there and try that once. So is that farther than Ochechobee?
