It's getting so damn hot this summer it's like the fish bass turned off.

Any tips or good spots to hit in or around the Pinellas or Hillsborough area for bringing them in during this heat wave?

Thanks in advance!

All you can do is get out before the crack of dawn. Hit it for a hour or two and get on the water. I'm not sure of any spots in that area.

The bigger lakes will be good in the mornings on topwater. But you have about 2 hours of fishing. If the lake has lilypads, which shade the water and can help cool it down, you can fish buzzbaits and other spinners, or cast a plastic worm. If there's river running into the lake, that area where the water comes in tends to be a bit cooler and the bass like to lay around cover waiting for bait to come by.

Been many years since I fished for bass, but we used to catch them all year long. Just have to adjust and try new things.
