Yesterday I took the day off work. I had an invite as a guest to hit a Fins and Feather lake with a neighbor. Neither of us had been to this lake before so we made the obligatory stop for live bait at Turkey Creek Bait and Tackle. It was a great morning and just the right temps. We got all loaded up and ready to launch.
When we first got there we cruised the lake for a few checking out the depths and checking out the area. Once we found some grassy areas in deep water, I said "this is the place." I was hoping for some good bluegill action. As I lowered the trolling motor in and turned it on.... Yup... it died. Ug... That was a blow.
We anchored up for a while and tried a few spots, even got the trolling motor to work for a short time, then we gave up on it. I said, lets try trolling like they do for kings. Lets put some diving lures out there and I will put the engine in and out of gear to keep our speed down.
With YET ANOTHER trusty Rapala (a DT 10 Silver Thug ) with in 15 mintues, my largest bass ever! 23.5 inches, 8 pounds! We caught a few more smaller ones on a chartrusse DT 10 Thug too. We called it a day at around 2, when it started getting really hot. As we came into the ramp, BAM caught another one. LOL. We both started laughing and said one word. Lemonade! We definitely were handed lemons to start.
Tightlines!

Nice going! Sounds like a great day.
Those Fin & Feather pits and lakes used to really produce some good bass. We were members back when I was in high school, and my brother and I caught a lot of fish from the pits south of Mulberry. Nice to see they still produce some good fish!
Thats a lunker..
nice bass!
Great looken Bass.
