Caught a couple nice 3-4 lbs had shiners but they died within the first 30 minutes being there changed to a watermelon crawdad an snagged a couple like that. FOr every 30 cast I have 2 bites an reeled in a fish tomorrow Im going again. ran out of the watermelon crawdads I guess there cheap made an are almost falling apart or Im just to green to know How to really hook them good. EIther or no more bait for bass will be bought ..
I never EVER use live bait for bass ANYMORE. Not so say its not good! or Not to say you don't know how to use lures. When i first started fishing i used to never have any lures at all. i always used Night Crawlers or corn. But when i was taught where and when to use certain lures I was like "dam this is great, Don't gotta buy or carry any live bait"! Now i ONLY use lures (rattle traps, top water plugs, plastics ect.). Any fisherman can get highly discouraged by the use of lures if they don't know where and when to use them.
If you use the wrong lure you can get hung up, get crap in the trouble hooks and so on. So the biggest part is not acquiring the lures, its knowing which one to use for what situation.
And you don't have to carry a bucket of shiners that probably will die by the time you get to your spot.
