It was a slow start to the spawn with all the on/off weather we had lately. This whole weeks nice weather sure helped. Now lots of LM bass are on their beds around Ft. Pierce area. Its a good time to beat the banks... Those bass that are easily irritated into a strike! :rockon Good luck and handle spawners with care.

My dad always told me when I was knee high to a grasshopper... That the bass were bedding when the fruit trees were blooming. Usually the fruit trees are bloomed out by this time, but this year they have just started in the last week.

Guess it is on...And I have no where to bass fish anymore 🙁

My nephew works for FWC doing fish counts and stocking lakes, etc. He was on Lake Arbuckle last week and showed me pictures of several bass over 12 pounds they shocked up, including one nearly 16 pounds! He said the shellcracker are about ready to bust loose there as well.

On the other hand, they also spent a week travelling the length of the Peace River all the way into Charlotte harbor. They only shocked up 3 snook, and those were found almost to where I-75 crosses the east side of the harbor. Usually they'll get 50-60 snook between Arcadia and the harbor. Yet my dad says he has more snook around his dock lights in Englewood than he has ever had! I know the freeze hurt a lot of fish, but it's hard to tell in some places.
