Someone owns the land. And hunting without written permission is felony tresspass, and will get you a one way ticket to the gray bar hotel

Or shot.

Sorry, but land needs to be properly posted or fenced for trespass laws to be valid. Skunkape the question you asked the FWC did not provide an answer to private unposted, or unfenced parcels. There are exceptions to the rule. Like city limits. Than the cities rules apply, or if there is a dwelling. I learned this from Ken Hensley a FWC officer for 30+ years who just retired. I was on a hunt, and a local asked him a question about a piece of land in Citrus county where some locals had been hunting. His answer was they are in there legal rights as long as the land was not fenced, or legally posted . I have even been pointed in the right direction by an officer in North Port who told me where some unfenced, unposted land was I could legally hunt. No written permission necessary for these plots. Shot many hogs there, and talked with officers who I ran into out there while carrying a gun, and dragging a hog. They were concerned if I had any deer, and checked me to make sure I was legal for deer hunting. You guys better do a little more research. Over the years I have hunted 5, or 6 places like this, and been checked for licences, and identity. Never been asked for written permission because I was hunting legal. We used to hunt a spot in north Tampa before it became houses.

I can't see people lining up to volunteer to wade thru a mucky/skeeter/snake/gator infested swamp in the dark. wouldn't wanna do it myself and wouldn't ask someone to do something I wouldn't want to. sooner or later it's gonna step on dry land and I'll be waiting.

Ya, I wouldn't try that down here.

Down here, up there, or any where it is the responibility of the land owner to properly post, or fence his, or her land. Why do you think there are signs all over the place saying no hunting, or no trespassing. It is because they have to by law to keep people off of there land. I am just trying to give you guys a heads up. I pretty much only hunt WMAs, but if I lived in the boonies I would definately seek out pieces of property like this. There is nothing wrong with not knowing the rules. I don't just see a piece of land unfenced, and unposted. Than immediately hunt it. I would do a little research first. Like I said if you do not believe me ask an experienced LEO he will tell you.

So for the sake of argument, if I own a piece of wooded property, say, in Steinhatcchee, Fl(just to name a town). And it has deer and hogs on it. And say I do not take it upon myself to post any no tresspassing signs or no hunting signs....That means you or anyone else can walk in and hunt??? I am no lawyer, but you are wrong. And I will prosecute anyone hunting my property, posted or not
