Anybody going to upper hillsborough for small game season? if so would like to meet some other hunters who hunt the same areas i do. i plan on getting a pig or 2 over the 3 weekends.
Was in there last Friday scouting for an archery hunt. I was really surprised, I did not see a lot of hog sign. Lots of rubbed trees, and very old rooting, but no fresh tracks after the rain. I am sure they are there, though.
In case you didn't know, there's still one more archery hunt this weekend.
Hog numbers are really down. I think there was a total of 8 all season taken. (maybe that was deer, but the hog numbers are still way down for some reason)
i scout the area all year as it is my favorite hunting spot. got my first kills there, and i have found a couple areas that are holding some animals, and throughout the summer i have seen dozens of hogs. the numbers may be down but the critters are out there. i am looking to get a muzzleloader so i can put in for permits next season. scouted in between the archery hunts acouple weeks back and saw 8 deer, but no hogs. i plan on finding some before feb6.
