I'll be going in a week or two to start scouting around. And FYI small game is shot gun only. Slug or buck shot is fine.

I find zero enjoyment of hunting over feed. Unless hunting for survival.
Is there a center fire hog season there at all?

On private land, sure, gun season.
On public land?
Depends on the WMA you're hunting in...
General gun usually means center fire allowed.
